Privacy Policy

The Nightly Story Club is operated by Parker Jane Company LLC (“Parker Jane,” “we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

A note about AI — please read

Stories are generated using third-party artificial-intelligence providers. Information you enter into a child profile (such as name, age, favorite things, themes, and things to avoid) is sent to those providers so they can return a story. Please do not enter sensitive, private, or directly identifying information about your child or anyone else. That includes home address, school name, phone number, government identifiers, health or medical information, financial information, photographs, login credentials, or details about other people who have not consented. A first name or nickname and general interests are all we need to make a story feel personal.

What we collect

• Account information you give us: parent email address, password hash, and basic preferences.
• Child profile information you choose to enter: first name or nickname, age, favorite things, themes, things to avoid, and preferred send time.
• Stories generated for your account and your feedback on them.
• Subscription and billing information, handled by our payment processor; we do not store full payment-card numbers.
• Standard technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, and basic usage analytics needed to operate and secure the Service.

How we use it

• To generate and deliver each night’s personalized story.
• To operate, secure, monitor, debug, and improve the Service.
• To process payments and manage memberships.
• To respond to support requests and send transactional emails about your account.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use child profile information for advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Children’s information

The Service is a parent-facing tool. Children do not have accounts and do not interact with the Service directly. All information about a child is entered voluntarily by the parent or guardian and is used only to personalize that child’s stories. We rely on parents to limit what they enter to non-sensitive information, as described above. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted in error or without authorization, email us and we will delete it.

Service providers (subprocessors)

We share data only with vetted providers that help us run the Service, under contract and only for the purposes above. Categories include: cloud hosting and database, transactional email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring and analytics, and AI model providers used to generate stories. These providers receive only what they need to perform their function.

Retention

We retain account, profile, and story data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support re-activation, billing, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.

Your choices

You can review or edit your child profiles, change your delivery preferences, pause, or cancel at any time from your account. To export or delete your data, or to exercise any rights you may have under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), email us at the address below. Cancelling your membership stops future stories.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; please keep your account credentials safe.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
